WALKERS INFORMATION IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO WALKERS FOR 2022: The runners this year will start at 10:00am. In previous years, the race started at 2:00pm. There will be a large number of runners leaving the field as a large group at 10:00am. The first mile of the long walk route will be very congested at that time, especially at the narrow bridge around 0.5 mile. Walkers on the long walk are requested to start before 9:40am (or after 10:00am) and to complete the first mile as quickly as possible. PLEASE GIVE WAY TO THE RUNNERS. THE LEADING RUNNERS WILL BE GOING VERY QUICKLY. WATER: To reduce our wastage from cups, etc..., we ask walkers to please carry their own water. Please do not rely on the water stations on the course which are provided for the runners and will close when the last runner goes through. The runners start at 10:00am. ROUTES: Two marked walks are available; the 13.1 mile half-marathon distance, which largely follows the same route that the runners take, and a shorter 5 mile walk more suitable for families and younger walkers who may wish to take a gentle stroll with picnic. Both routes include tracks, public roads and footpaths around Otmoor. Maps of the courses are available at the Start. The walks start and finish on the playing field at the Millennium Hall in Horton cum Studley (OX33 1AD), Free parking and toilets are available at the Hall. A commemorative badge is awarded to walkers finishing before 3:00pm.
